Florida EMT

Newly registered EMT here. Was wondering where you all might think a good place to start working would be? I live in the Daytona Beach area.

Daytona is poor prospect for EMT/Medics. The County run thrid service EMS is not looking and if they do they tend to hire from the VSTs first. They have a ton of applicatipons on file also.

Most of the fire departments hire only paramedics, though this is changing somewhat. You wil need to have your fire cert to do that. Beach Patrol is looking for summer lifeguards if you can pass the swim and run and the training, not sure if you will do more then sit in the tower.

All the hospitals use EMT/medics as ER techs but you will really need to stand out to get hired as they get 100's of applications for every opening.

Your best bet is to try Orlando or Tampa or head south.

Thanks, I think I am going to try to some hospitals around here, I also heard that some doctors such as Pulmonologists hire EMT's, I'm gonna pass my resume around and hope for something!
