I've been doing research, trying to find openings for an EMT-B position outside of a hospital/ambulance setting, but have come across nothing. I've heard things about industrial-setting EMTs, but have had no luck finding such positions. Anyone have any advice on this?

I work at a steel mill and the main gate guards are all required to have an EMT-B. You could also look into working for a coal mine or something of that nature. I believe because of the dangerous work environment OSHA requires that there be medical personel on call at all times.

Also check out car manufacturing plants. I worked at the Toyota plant in Indiana for 3.5 years. Loved it.
