What's up guys? I am finally getting to start the hands on stuff in my EMT class. We have just got through all of the medical/legal/ethics stuff and are now finally getting into the good stuff! We got to take blood pressure, locate and palpate all of the pulse sites and do a glucose finger stick test. Tonight we are doing patient assessment. I am excited!!

I remember this. Have fun, enjoy it while it lasts, and most importantly, learn to do things by the book for the NR exam.

Thanks! The class is going smooth but it's a lot of information to learn in a very short period of time but I'm excited about it.

I love school too, I'm glad you're excited..

My favorite parts is obstetrics.. Nothing more exciting then the thought of a delivering a healthy baby.. The smell of amniotic fluid and placenta in the morning..

That scares the crap out of me. One female patient is enough work....generating another one....definitely a situation I want to avoid.

Seem like most people love it or hate it... I've delivered 4 humans-- if you count the one of my own that I delivered by myself.

The hardest part for me was restraining myself not to scream out "OH, HELL YES MUTHA FU**ER!!!" as the baby drops out.

My favorite part is coming over the radio in the ambulance saying....

"Dispatch...EMS X on the way to the hospital with ... one newborn baby boy, and one very proud mother..."

Makes me smile every time I hear it on the radio :) a nice feeling when you get to tell everyone else too :)

ASA can successfully treat prehospital labor.

Take 1 tablet.

Place between patient's knees.

Tell her to hold it there until you arrive at the hospital.

/sarcasm/
