Over the years, I've helped pull a lot of strange things out of people's tracheas and bronchi during bronchoscopies. The ones that pop to mind are:
-Teeth (so many I've lost count....one guy had four teeth in his trachea and mainstems; note to self: don't piss off bouncers)
-The wheel off a Hot Wheels car
-Pen cap
-Pearls (a real pain in the butt to get ahold of)
-A marble (an even bigger pain in the butt)
-Buttons
-Peanuts
-The plastic pull tab off the bottom of an IV bag (you know...the little cover over where you spike the bag); the patient was one of the local nursing home nurses....suffice to say there was an inservice about the multiple reasons why one does not open an IV bag using your teeth regardless of how full your hands are
