So far here at EMSA, I have been recognized more by my style of medicine than by my name, and seemingly always connected to my parents (specifically my dad), to the point where one of the residents at Southwest was able to identify me as a member of the Tribe only through my report. "You learned about pain management from your dad, didn't you?"

I got into this, I think, because I saw him do it.

That's cool. Someone called me by my mom's name the other day, when I snapped at them and reminded them that they could do better.

Teehee. They recognize my mom's attitude. The older I get, the more people ask if I'm Jackie's daughter instead of Garland's daughter. Both are equally well known around here. In Fire and EMS and in the community. They volunteered for 25 years.

I haven't run into this issue seeming as I am the only member in my family who has to do with Fire/EMS.

Now how I ride motorcycles is exactly like my bro but that is off topic.

My dad was a critical care flight medic. He also was a owner/manager of a local ems service for a few years. Most all of my instructors or co workers from my last job either went to school with him, worked for him or were taught by him. I look a lot like him so it is common for people to call me by his name.
