I've not been through school yet, but I'm excited about getting my EMT-B license.
What I'm planning on (because theres no way of knowing how I'll react to various calls sitting here) is to get experience as an EMT-B for about 6 months. At that point, I believe I could get a better idea of what it takes to be a medic, and at that point I think I could make a better decision about becoming a medic.
Hope that helps. I believe anyone around here will tell you experience is key. Don't jump from one to the next immediately, then regret it later. Take your time...it's going to be a career and life changing experience I'm sure.
