Good day,

I am currently attempting to get into the ER at a local hospital as an EMT. Are any of you currently, or have previously worked in a hospital?

Any pros and cons of this?

Thanks!

The hospitals in my area typically only hire medics with 1 year Pre-hospital experience. They also hire basics, but they require 1 year of experience in conjunction with a phlebotomy cert. You'll find that the requirements vary as well as the scope of practice.

yeah, as part of my class i had to do hospital clinicals with a lvl 1 trauma center, and i followed around an EMT and a Paramedic. Since there were no CNA's around, the EMT had to scoop sh*t out of this dudes ***. Not for me.
