Emt license question: New York to Missouri

Is the nremt a seperate license than the emt-b license? If I got my emt-b license in ny, do I need to apply to get an nremt license to practice in missouri?

To clarify, NREMT is a certification, not a license. Every state in the United States has a different policy for licensing emergency medical technicians.

The confusing part is that some states use the NREMT examination process as their state test.

Missouri requires:

Initial Licensing in the State of Missouri: To obtain an initial license in Missouri, all levels of EMT must provide proof of current certification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians along with page one of the EMS personnel license application.

Ok that makes more sense. So if i obtain my license this summer, how long will it take to get nremt certified after receiving my license?
