Having just completed a year for Lifeline Ambulance, here goes: it is a place to start and get some EMT experience. That is about it. I would highly recommend people to apply to better places such as Care and McCormick, as the management has simply got to be better almost anywhere than Lifeline (from personal experience). They do not give C7s and will work you into the ground if you let them (i.e. stack calls one after another before you have finished the last call). They simply do not have a clue how to manage/treat people. I did get to meet some phenomenal fellow EMTs and patients and did gain some valuable experience, but it was a difficult year to put it mildly.

i agree......do not waste your time....unless you just really need money and all other avenues have failed...

Do you understand that business do not make money unless they run calls? Why would they want vehicle to be sitting idle while they are paying their employee? You might think that is working the crew in to the ground but it's actually means they have plenty of calls and you are working which is what you're employed to do. People that work on ambulance think that they are somehow special and should not be extremely busy. If you're scheduled to work 8-8 or whatever the scheduled might be, be prepared to work all of that time except for 30 minutes lunch. Those company's that have crew sitting around half a day doing nothing are not productive and eventually go out of business.
