so I am new to the site and am almost finished with my Emt-b course here in Florida. In planning for the future, I was wondering if anyone can tell me if it is possible to take the NR EMT-I85, even though Florida only recognizes basic and medic. The school I currently go to, offers the medic program in 4 semester (intro, medic 1, medic 2, medic 3). After looking at the NR requirements, they look similiar to what is done in medic 1.
The reason I want national certification is because my work schedule will not allow me to enroll in the medic program for a straight 2 years. (I work at sea half the year) My employer does recognize NR EMT I's though, so if I could get that cert in the process, I would get a promotion while continuing to work on my medic. Any advice would be thankfull.
