I just started my EMT-B course and our class is required to have face protection meaning safety glasses of some sort. what kind should I get and where do I get some?

I don't know if this will work for you, but I have a set of Oakley Ballistic M-frames with clear and tinted lenses that I've always been allowed to use when I'm wearing my contacts

Cheap ones that are clear. Any store that has any home improvement stuff will have them, like Home Depot, or Wal-Mart.

I don't advise buying expensive ones because in the real world it's easy to lose, break or scratch them.

Ask your instructructor.

I have had a tendency to snap a pair or two up off the $2 at Ace Hardware if they fit, the lenses were not distortional, and they had some wraparound to them. They need to stick to your head also, unless you want to carry duct tape.

Shouldn't the company that you're doing your ride along with be responsible for providing your PPE? Are they expecting you to supply gloves as well?

My ride time was with Des Moines Fire, I had to provide my own eye protection but, they had everything else. Just my $.02

I have about 6 or 7 pair of Wal-Mart safety glasses. Some clear some tinted. I keep at least one pair of each on my motorcycle. I feel better breaking a pair of glasses that cost $4.50.
