First time poster here...

I wanted to get everyone's opinion on what they thought was harder, EMT-B or EMT-I? At the school that I take it EMT-B is a 9 credit course where EMT-I is only an 8 credit course. I understand that we will be building on skills that we learned last semester but wasn't sure if it will be more of a review PLUS IV therapy and intubation or all new material. All opinions are greatly appreciated!

You will do a slight review of BLS, but will focus more on new skills.

Much appreciated. I spoke to my instructor and he said that EMT-I is typically a little easier due to the fact that the info is fresh in our heads from last semester

Why EMT-I? Why not just go ahead and go for paramedic instead of Para-almost?

Perhaps their state is set up like PA's new system will be. We won't be able to go from EMT-B to Paramedic without bridging from EMT-B to Advanced EMT then from A-EMT to Paramedic.

In TN, we are i/85 about to be EMT-Advanced and Paramedic. No EMT-B.

I personally found the Intermediate class harder. Not really the material but more from the responsibility behind it if that makes sense. As an I you can do a lot more harm to someone if you don't know what your doing. I took it as a motivator and worked my *** off and graduated top 3 in my class, passing the NREMT-I on my first try.

You definitely review the BLS side of it but thats all it is, review. There is a good amount of new material.
