Hi Everyone,

I am new here. I was wondering what you guys think about doing an EMT-b hybrid course where the class meets for 16 Saturdays in a row for 6hrs to do skills and written exams and then during the week you are responsible for studying, reading, and quizzes on your own. Anyone have experience with this structure? Thank you!

that's how I did my class, worked well for me. passed the state exam on my first try.

That is only 96 hours... that is not enough hours to meet DOT/NREMT

I would imagine that there must be some kind of online lecture each week as well. Otherwise that wouldn't be much of a hybrid class I don't think.

Thanks, yeh I know its a good program and been around for years. I was just wondering about how much did you actually learn by doing it? I don't want to squeak by on something like this b/c it is extremely important to know and understand what to do as an EMT.

I took mine at Bristol Community College, I think that I learned as well if not better than if I did a traditional course.

You can learn tons from online courses.

But it required discipline as a student to actually get motivated to do the assignments and meet the criteria on time.
