effective study group techniques

So I am going through the emt b course and have acquired a study group! I love the group and we do sit down and focus on the book but what are some different techniques that you found useful to make sure it was a successful group?

therer are some assessment apps if you have an iphone or ipod. I would suggest those as your test will mostly be using all the information you know rather than a basic question like "what is the long bone of the upper forearm".
