Not sure if this belongs in the education/training area or employment. Tried to do a search first, but alas no luck! Can anyone tell me if working as an ER tech gives you the proper exposure for paramedic school?? My understanding is that (in Washington State, where 12 months of "experience" is required) experience in the prehospital setting is what the WA State DOH wants. However, this is again my understanding and is nothing official. Thanks!

It's up to the school. Some schools state "Pre-hospital" experience, while others say experience as an EMT. Some don't even require experience, just your EMT certification.

good to know. I gotta say, Washington state makes it difficult to get into paramedic school. Oregon is a bit easier, but then I would need reciprocity which I could only get if I had an WA State cert, so back to square 1.
