Ecigs in the ambulance?

If you are proactive and inform your employer that you may use an E-cig at work, then they can head any "concerned citizens" (read whiners) off at the pass and inform them that what they saw was not a real cigarette. Problem solved!

Dunno bout you but that wouldnt fly at my company. They'd say wait till you clear the call.
 
Well, I'm not saying that you should use one during a call. Using an E-cig or smoking or using chewing tobacco should be something you do between calls.

But should using an E-cig in the ambulance while between calls pique some Dudley Do-Gooder's sense of indignation, your employer can inform them that you're not actually smoking. But you need to inform them of your habit so they have the foreknowledge to combat any complaints.

That doesn't matter. Both look the same in the public's eye, but it doesn't interfere with patient care. Smoke if you want but don't let them see it. It's ridiculous to prohibit like that in the first place but unfortunately image is everything. Kill the issue before it's a problem.
