i live in new York city and i have been trying to find a training school so i could get my EMT-I but cant seem to find one. could any one direct me to one?

Yes. No one teaches an EMT-I class in NYC. NYC does not recognize EMT-I so there is no point.

You may want to check into a CC class but I doubt anyone teaches that in NYC. Probably have to go out to Nassau to get one of those.

Phelps hospital in Westchester has been known to have an occassional class but Westchester does not recognize it.

Good Luck.

Thank you for that info. well what is the next step up after being a EMT basic in NYC its hard finding a straight answer in the web. How great is your job

Depending what part of the city you live in, Rockland county offers B/I/CC/P classes for the public, you just need to look up what class is next that they teach. They have all the info on who to contact on the NYS-DOH website

Your next step is Paramedic. New York city is pretty much as noted BLS by Basics and ALS by Paramedics. If your thinking about moving out to the Island though and want to volunteer then taking the CC is not a bad way to go, fire dept./ Ambulance Corps. pay for it and you'll definitely get utilized. On the other hand if you want to get paid once again the logical step is Paramedic. Though there are some fire dept.'s that have paid CC's. Just so you know Suffolk recognizes I's but treats them as a level below CC's. Not sure about Nassau.
