do you have to have IV for TN?

I am a volunteer firefighter in Tn and am interested in getting my EMT as well. I want to take one of the online classes, possibly trainingdivsion.com, but I would only get EMT-B and I have been told I need EMT-IV for TN. Is this true, or can I operate with the basic certification? Could I take the class online and take a short IV class to submit with my application for a license? Any other options?

If I'm correct, TN only certifies EMTs at IV or Paramedic now. There are a few EMT-Bs who are grandfathered in and still practicing at a basic level, but I'm pretty sure TN doesn't train EMT-Bs anymore. Though we're supposedly getting an EMT-B, EMT-A, and paramedic system soon, but I'm not holding my breath.

I couldn't imagine taking an EMT class online anyhow. What area are you in if I may ask?
