In Texas, an in hospital DNR is just that, in hospital. You need an out of hospital DNR for it to also take effect out of hospital.
You do all resucitative measures until a DNR is seen and confirmed. If they say there is one, but can't provide it at that time, you keep going.
The Texas DSHS offers OOH bracelets as well, which are just as valid.
