i went and took my ambulance cert. passed and then applied to amr.
heard back from arm stating that they checked and the dmv hadn't issued my ambulance license and also didn't have a record of my DL51 on file.
today i received my ambulance cert in the mail. its all just really confusing now.

You applied to AMR before you had the ambulance driver certificate. Feel free to contact AMR now that you have the certificate.

Also, keep a copy of your dl51 on file. Keep a copy of everything on file. You can't trust other people to keep your records for you.

This to the max! DMV has lost my medical paperwork a couple times.

Let us know how AMR responds and if they are allowing you to continue in the hiring process.

so people, help me understand, why we got SSN# with name, various IDs icluding military and state and USpassport, then we got dr. lic with pictures and names and birthdates and signatures and address and unique dr.lic. numbers,...and then we still gotta go do livescans. is it $$$ they dont got ??? DOJ and FBI cant check a person based on the SSN and IDs??? I know they got my fingers several times already as I did mil, security guard, for coaching kids sports, pretty much about 10 livescans are done in the past 10 years...why the fk we keep doing them? I know they got my name and my fingers together in one file with my SSN there and my pic. please help me and explain cause I am mad :)

DMV called me and said if I want to renew my amb dr lic I need to do another livescan! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do they confirm that you're the person who's social you gave them. If you dont like the way CA handles it's stuff, go to another state or do what they want and stop *****ing. If it's what they require i don't see how you have much choice

Why do I have to be fingerprinted again if I've already been fingerprinted in the past?
(1) Per DOJ policy, sharing of criminal history is not permitted.
(2) For identification purposes.
(3) Each job/license/permit application can require a different level of service, i.e., some require DOJ, some require both DOJ and FBI, in addition to other checks

Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI), including responses that no criminal record exists, are confidential. Sections 11142 and 11143 of the Penal Code provide for criminal penalties for the release of this information to unauthorized individuals.

Article I, Section 1 of the California Constitution grants California citizens an absolute right to privacy. Individuals or agencies violating these privacy rights place themselves at both criminal and civil liability. The California right of privacy was created to curb, among other things, the over broad collection and retention of personal information by government agencies, the improper use of information properly obtained for a proper purpose, and the lack of a reasonable check on the accuracy of existing records. (White v. Davis (1975) 13 Cal.3d 757, 775.)

Isn't Livescan like $25 in Ca? I guess I don't understand why doing it again is such a big deal?

My name is in my sig line. Come to texas, I'll buy you a beer and show you how real EMS works

Thread has been cleaned up. Most posts in this thread have been perfectly civil, so let's keep it that way.

Having worked in CA previously in order to renew the ambulance DL, you have to go through the same process again as when you first got it. That is how they setup the process. It sucks that they can't just look up the old livescan that you did and rerun it, but that is government for you.

I think its $70. Cant really remember, good thing about it is you only have to do it once. CA EMT card and your ADL you don't need a livescan to renew.

You've been lucky then every time I went to renew they had me redo my livescan. They also lost my paperwork three times, the DMV is horrible.

How do you think I feel? I am a state licensed security officer, a state licensed EMT and I have a green card, how many copies of MY fingers do you think they have?

Thats blows man. I just had to wait 3 hours to pay my $20 to take the test and pass, bing bang boom I was done.

Every time I renew, I am supposed to take 7 tests (Class B, Class C, tank, air brake, hazmat, FF and ambo); I have never had to renew a livescan. If you find a DMV employee who is helpful, deal with them every time.
