Our county in on track to break records for the number of deaths resuting from MVA's over the 4th yet. In everyone so far, alcohol has played a factor.
Friday- 3 MVA's resulting in 5 deaths.
Saturday - 5 MVA's resutling in 9 deaths.
Sunday - No deaths from MVA's, however we had one from a guy who somehow "fell out" of the car he was in while traveling at highway speeds.
We've also had 4 people paralyzed from diving accidents. UMMM...Hello people, if you can look into the water and see the sand on the bottom..AND the people around you only have water up to their knees, WTF would make you DIVE head first into the water!!
5 suicides.
To many to even count MVA's w/ injuries. Even more w/o injuries.
Our beach safety teams are reporting numerous "saves" each day. A save is simply someone caught in the water (normally a rip current) that the Beach teams had to go pull out.
Quite a few "marine life" (read shark, we are not allowed to say shark on the radio....something about people hearing and panicing) spottings amongst the swimmers....No bites yet...Knock on wood....
On the Bright side....
I leave in 15 hours for VACATION!!! 5 days away from here....YEA!!!!
