We'll talk about the thump.

I think that if it doesn't delay putting on an AED or monitor to defibrillate the patient, it's OK to try the precordial thump. Since it was witnessed, an immediate thump is like a very small dose of joles when defibrillating, so it's similar to the AED/monitor, but much smaller dose. Again! I wouldn't delay the actual AED/monitor cause a larger dose of electricity is more likely to convert it.
