Until recently I have always gotten the content of new posts in the email notification. It was really helpful and useful in alerting me if I should visit the forum and make a reply or continue to read the conversation.

In the past week or so I've noticed this content no longer shows up. Is this an option I can re-enable in the control panel? I've looked for it but am unable to find it.

Thanks.

I noticed the same. I miss the content being there. I think it was a change made in the system.

I too enjoyed reading the content in email, but you wouldn't believe how many people actually reply to those posts as if it will be posted in the forum. Every reply was sent to all of the moderators.

After years of reading posts that never made it to the community, I thought removing the actual text would make people click on the link and reply.

How about inserting it as a feature for us to turn on in the control panels, but is off by default? That would likely eliminate the problem. kthx.

I'm not sure if that's an option. I'll have to get back to you on that one.

Ok, but please hurry. I really relied on the content-in-email a lot. Very sad to see it go.

Another option could be to modify the reply-to address from "moderators@..." to "noreply@..."

You can setup an email account called "noreply@..." and never check it.
Or let it simply bounce back.

You'll never see those replies again.

As the above poster suggested and also but a notice not to reply and explain the reply will not be read by any person.

Yeah, just set the reply to a dead email address. Problem solved. So, can we have our emails back?

We'll discuss it. Thanks for providing suggestions.

Right now it makes the most sense to leave the system the way it is, where you have to click on a link in order to read the reply's content.

It's not possible to set the "from" email address to "donotreply@emtlife.com" or something similar, as the emails would then most likely end up in our users' spam boxes. Also, and most importantly, it's not a feature of the software to change the address just for notifications.

Since making the change that requires you to visit the community in order to see the reply I no longer receive individual replies, and our community traffic has increased.

This may be something we'll evaluate again in the future, but for now it makes sense to keep the system the way it is.

Here's a vote for restoring the content-in-email notifications.
