The Red Cross basically provided rehydration and feeding for the "victims" and the rescuers. Manatee County, the county just to the north of us, was the Red Cross command since the runway is actually in their county. (If something were to happen at the terminal then we would be in charge.) The scenario was that the plane crashed and Manatee ARC was called in. Being that it was such a large event, they called for ARC Mutual Aid and we arrived. They brought their command vehicle and an ERV (Emergency Response Vehicle used for bringing in supplies and feeding). We brought Truck 1 - Chevy High Top (seen on the left), Truck 2 - Dodge Sprinter (awesome truck) pulling Trailer 3, our Mobile Ops trailer.
In the event of a real plane crash, which we had just 3 days prior to the drill, we would role in our Mental Health team to talk to any surviors, family members and rescue workers. This would be, of course, in addition to rehabbing the rescue workers.
