Well just got myself registered and cleares for some HAZMAT training with the center for disaster training in August.

Its hands on training dealing with the decon process and identifying different threats.

Its all paid for. Even my gas mileage to drive to the airport.

I recommend if anyone has a week to kill that you do it. I hear its a great experiance.

There are tons of different courses to take.

Since im doing the training at the toxic agent center. I have to get blood drawn before and after and wont be allowed to leave the base untill my results are in. lol so lets just hope I dont end up quarentined somewhere in Alabama.

I have never flown before and I know no one in AL.

We shall see how it goes.

Who is paying for it? The CDP, or the department you work for?
 
Anniston is a small place. Not sure whats around there. Do you have any means of transportation after class ends for the day?

My former EMS chief when I lived in south Alabama went there alot. I can ask him if whats around for your down time.

I was doing some research on my own after posting my earlier question (thanks for your reply Anjel1030), and from what I can tell, there isn't actually a need for transportation. Dorms and meals are provided on campus, so you never need to leave.

Every night there is a shuttle that will take you anywhere in a 15 mile radius. I am just hoping for a walmart or something lol
