Can you apply for state certification immediately after passing?

So I logged onto the NREMT website today to see that I've passed the written exam, which completes my application. It says: "Certification documents will be mailed to the address provided in your account profile by first class US Postal service within three business days." My question is, what do they actually mail you? Do they just mail you your certificate or more paperwork I have to fill out before applying for the state certification? Can I apply for my state certification (MA) right now or do I have to wait till I receive the "certification documents" in the mail. I know it's a matter of only three days but I'm in a rush because I'm going to be out of town in a few weeks and need my license in the mail before I leave.

You can print out the NREMT certification card. And then you have to print out and fill out a MA EMS application. NREMT will NOT send you any documents about certifying in your state.
