I am in San Diego. And would like to know what BLS complanies are in Georgia? Or where to find them? Thanks. And yes I know "Why are you moving out of San diego to Georgia?" I don't feel like paying 200,000 for a shack lol

It depends. Where are you thinking about moving to? Atlanta has the typical AMR, etc. Some counties have their own BLS services. Hit me up with where you want to go. I might be able to help.

In Georgia you will be hard pressed to find a job as a Basic. The only role of a basic is to serve as a "driver" and two basics are not allowed on a truck together. Some services will hire you to drive a medic/intermediate, but they are few and far between. There are numerous non emergency services in the state, but you will be running the dialysis wagon as such. I would recommend at least gaining your intermediate certification prior to your move as it would lallow you more options. If I am incorrect in this, please correct me anyone. Let me know if there are any questions or if I can help. Best of luck

Absolutely correct, GaEmt. The state doesn't recognize the basic unless you work for the FD. Even then, the FD's are sending the basics they have back to school to get their intermediate.

I'm surprised to hear this. Are most agencies ALS then? Is there no shortage of paramedics in GA?

Yes, we are in major need of Medics or I/85 or I/99 to work on a medic truck but there is only one place I know that does this in the state, if you want more info let me know

I have just passed my EMT class. I am taking the practical on the 19th, and the computer test as soon as I possibly can.
