Two members of this forum were involved in auto accidents while on duty today. Myself and WVemt. Please drive safely, look every direction! and please wear a seatbelt whenever you possibly can. We all understand that sometimes we cannot wear a seatbelt due to it limits access to the patient.

Oh,no! Hopefully everyone is OK. Have you and wvent in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope both of you are okay.

I am fine, just really sore, i strained some muscles on my right lateral side, below the ribs, and my shoulders are stiff. But more than that, I am ok. There was no one in the vehicle with me when I was responding to the Structure Fire.

Yay, seatbelts!

Yay, seatbelts!

I guess you could say that. Plus air bag deployment. But neither truy helped me. The center console is what saved me and what cause my injuy haha

I never go anywhere without my seatbelt on. I treat everyone that rides with me like a little kid and do the obligatory, ''The truck won't go into drive, unless all the seatbelts are fastened.'' I get some grumbles and groans, but it works!

Just a friendly reminder to everyone, please drive safe. there was another member of this forum that was involved in a car accident on the December 23rd. (I believe that is the date). Luckily no one has been seriously Injured! Please lets get through the rest of this year with no more accidents involving LEO FF EMS please!

And I was involved in an MVC while I was attending on a patient yesterday. (Great xmas present huh? :P) Made me miss working in a Type II and being able to be secured while grabbing gear and working the patient. Guys, please stay secured in the back (preferably in the airway/captains chair) as much as humanly possible while in the back. Your patient is probably in the safest place, so you should make sure you're safe in the back just as much as up front.
