I switched from a company that only used the newer power stretchers to a company that doesn't have any power stretchers. I'm fairly new to the field and not used to the whole lifting the stretcher thing yet I guess. I've been having soreness in my lower back usually midway through my work days and contiune still the end of the shift. Usually gone by the morning... Is this normal and just from my body not being used to all the lifting. Or did I maybe hurt myself? It's not pain that prevents me from moving or doing anything, just sore.

This isn't really a question we can answer online. Back injuries are common in EMS and you need to be careful. Make sure you always use proper lifting methods, get help when needed. It's not worth your back. Back injuries can also develop over time, so just because you can still move and lift does not mean damage is not being done.

That being said, of course you may be sore sometimes but I do not have lower back pain routinely from lifting the stretcher. If this persists as you continue in your job you may want to investigate further. I have injured my back a few times in the past (once EMS related and once by falling on Ice) and it was miserable. Good luck.
