Back on the boards, and back to the BSN path.

Hello. Haven't been around in a while, mainly because I've been living out of my car (not at as bad as it sounds - I'm fortunate to have good friends with good couches). Thought I'd take a break from going through the 11 pages of unread posts and give a quick update.

As some may know I was at a university last year pursuing a bachelor's in nursing, and then due to financial and other reasons was set to leave there and go to a hospital system and community college based medic school in January.

However, I recently learned that I have been awarded 2 major grants to attend the same university again this upcoming year. These grants will give me a full ride at the school for a year, and I will likely receive these grants again in the future while attending the actual nursing program. So I'm going back. I should be finished with my pre-requisites after the spring semester of 2010, and anticipate entrance into the actual 2-year BSN program summer 2010.

Excellent for you! Congrats.

I also got to live out of my car due to my homelessness. Of course, I could have had a living spot other than my car, but then I wouldn't have had food, so I chose food first. That's also why I have a low post count. I am hoping that I don't become homeless this winter because a car at 20 below just sucks, no matter who you are. ^_^

On the other hand, I'm always proud to say that I'm living within my means. Excellent to hear that you've gotten some aid to continue education. Keep up the good work! I'm starting nursing this fall with the help of a scholarship.
