"Asthmatic" toddler had screw in lung

**Note: This happened in Germany, and does include a photo (X-ray showing the screw embedded in the toddler's lung).

A toddler with suspected chronic asthma was found to have a metal screw in his lungs after he was rushed to intensive care.

The 19-month-old boy, from Bonn in Germany, had been having severe difficulties breathing for weeks.

Doctors at the Sankt Augustin hospital had tried a number of different asthma treatments but were getting nowhere.

As the boy's condition worsened, he was admitted to intensive care where he was given a battery of tests including a chest x-ray.

Specialists immediately spotted the true cause of the problem - a screw stuck inside the child's lungs.

Oh man, that's so screwed up!

*bah-dum..ching!*

(good thing that they got it out of there. Wasn't there some story recently about a 70+yr old man that coughed up a screw that had been stuck in him for decades?)

How do most kids end up with stuff >IN< them... They either eat it, inhale it, or stick it in there.

I had a three year old whose mother called after a baby carrot was stuck... somewhere...

Dear gawd...

Boy.... the kid really got screwed....
