Seems to be a fair number of people here from the DC/VA area - anyone have any experience with Associates in Emergency Care? They seem like kind of a fly-by-night organization judging strictly from their website http://aecare911.org/

On a related note, is it possible to search for a whole string? Even going into Advanced Search and using "quotes around the name", the site would only search by the individual tags Associates, Emergency, and Care - which returns about a third of the posts on the whole site <_<

For right now, the best way to search our site is to go to Google and search like this...
site:emtlife.com whateveryouwanttosearchfor

All of your returns will be for EMTLife.com.

I did not attend AEC myself, but i know a couple of people who did. Overall i think they were happy with it.

Its really the only alternative to NVCC if you live in the area. The main difference between the two programs is that you earn an Associates degree if you go to NVCC, and a certification if you go through AEC. Their name is kinda misleading!

Also, AEC is a one year program. 6 months of Intermediate, 6 months of Paramedic. NVCC is a two year program. 2 semesters of Intermediate, 2 semesters of Paramedic.

I just had Medic student on field internship time from there. He was happy with his experience and a sharp medic. I think he was sponsored through his department and had worked a schedule that had him detailed to school for the duration of class. He apparently took it very seriously and studied hard, which is at least 60%.

Our Office and Fax numbers have changed. Update your files with our new contact information.
Their website looks like it's from 1997. Any time they have a banner notice indicating they have new contact info it seems ultrasketchy to me. Are they accredited by the CAAHEP? Licensed by the state? Have a local business license? Ask their mommy to cross the street?

Kentucky Community and Technical College through the Paducah campus has an online paramedic completion program that is very affordable.

In a similar note, does anyone have any advice about turning EMT-B and then P into an AA?

There's guys on my course who have done ICS / fire academies and are using the credits towards an AA, but I'm foreign and this is all new to me :o

The title of this thread is misleading. Its not about AA in EMS, its about a certification program in VA called "Associates in Emergency Care"...which oddly enough is NOT a degree program.
