Yup. It's a long article, but doesn't even scratch the surface of the complexity of the issue.

10 years ago people still made fun of the subject. Now that there is media coverage and some actual studies on the violence against EMS issue....... people don't laugh so much anymore.

The don't ask don't tell concept is pervasive throughout ems, especially staff safety, and not only violence, but lifting and moving heavy, heavyweight people as well.

Thanks you. And indeed Except with lifting and moving...... at least there are things like annual back test, Power Cot etc. So at least they try a little something there. With regards to violence directed at EMS....... it is still the "Dirty little secret" for sure.
