Are there any 2 to 5 month EMT programs in Detroit?

Numerous programs do quality condensed education courses, and not just in EMS. Again emt is not rocket science.

I'm originally from the detroit area.. i took my basic and medic courses at MCC... the "basic academy" (in my opinion) gave you a WEALTH of knowledge compared to the traditional style EMT-B program in the same college. my total EMT-B course was only 8 weeks long, but with it being 8 hours a day 5 days a week, you really were able to absorb more than you would think...

It's been a while, but I took a "rescue" course through Macomb Community College many moons ago. I like their course, but didn't see everything that was available. Good luck in your search.
