Hey, sorry I'm not too sure where to post this. Anyway, I'm looking at applying for jobs. The companies I am looking at have different cities and counties. My question is would I apply to each individual city I want to work at? Also is it better to apply online or to hand deliver an application. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If it's all the same company, usually you can submit one application to HR and then rank where you would want to work. And if you're submitting anything to HR, best to submit it online but call later in the week to verify they received it. Once you have the job, anything you submit to HR goes by registered mail. Can't trust those fools.

I prefer paper applications. With an online app, they can just put in search parameters and narrow down to what they're looking for, without even seeing your app. With a paper application, someone reviews them personally. Also, it gives them a chance to see your face, which makes you a real person, and not just a name on the app to them.

If you dont mind me asking what company are you applying for? or where is it located?

Most companies are getting away from paper apps. I know the service I work for won't even accept them anymore, it's all online. Your best bet it to apply at all the places that you are interesting in working for and FOLLOW UP on every application within a couple days of submitting them.

If you're applying for a job that wants applications, instead of resumes, that's a good sign that the job isn't worth having.

I'm located in California, I'm looking at any company that is hiring in any city within driving distance, I saw Americare, AMR, Gerber, and a few others. They want both an app and a resume. I was also looking into ER tech. Any suggestions?

Check out Care if its not too far driving distance, i recently was hired by them and I love it. As far as Gerber it doesn't look like they will have their 911 contracts much longer so unless your willing to take a hit at Gerber I wouldn't apply.

Oh, and I work with a guy from Americare and he said everyone there is just in a horrible mood and everyone hates working. I haven't heard anything to bad about AMR though.

Thank you, I looked them up. Not to bad of a driving distance. Now is it true you do a lift test of 200lbs?
