Hi all,

Looking for any inside on AMR Spokane, I have an offer to start there in July. I'm coming from Grady in Atlanta so I'm hoping it's not a bad choice, I'm trying to get out of the south. How's the working conditions and what shifts do they run? Their offering a sign on bonus so I'm hoping that doesn't mean they are desperate because people keep leaving. Pays at 17.50hr which I don't think is to bad for the area if there is over time. Any helps appreciated.

Thanks!

I did my internship with AMR Spokane. They were really great to work with. They work 12s and you work 3 days one week and 4 the next (4 hours of built in OT every check) with every other weekend being a three day weekend. Medics transport everything and you do a little IFT here and there. SSM will have you moving around a decent amount. The fire departments are really good to work with, even footing on calls not simply a taxi. Good equipment and rigs because Spokane Fire sets the bar for what AMR has to use in their contract. Protocols allow you to do your job. Have fun and enjoy the Inland Empire.

Sorry about the late response, thank you for the reply! Couple more questions, who has patient control on scene (fire orAMR) and does AMR have their own protocals or do they follow the Spokane county ones?

Thanks!

First come, first serve. For the most part, fire will be on scene first and usually with medics but it's a very good relationship and everyone works well together. Everyone follows the Spokane County protocols.
