I haven't heard too many details trickle in on this subject, but I chalk that up to it being summer and me being away from the school rumor mill. Anyone else heard about this? I heard it from a buddy of mine going through the academy. It's definitely happening, I just was wondering if anyone knew anything about AMR (American Medical Response)?

AMR is big and varies greatly by area. Some areas are really good and others are not so good. It's a private company but seems to have a good reputation for being a private. Pay varies depending on location.

That is really all that can be said. AMR usable to change greatly to adapt to an areas needs (everything from the paint job and type of ambulance to the way they operate).

AMR's not really "buying out" EMSA. They were bidding on the staffing contract for the PUM. I have friends that work for some units of AMR that love it and others who have nothing but evil to say. HIGHLY dependent on division. My bet is EMSA won't see a whole lot of right off the bat changes.

@Rocketmedic40 should know all about the intended inside scoop on this
