I recently applied to these two and I heard a lot about physical agility tests. I was wondering what that consists of and if Americare has a physical tests. This is the only part of the interview process that I am worried for. I'm 5 foot and only 100 lbs. I have been working out but not sure how much I could lift. Any tips or advice ? Thanks!

AMR has a timed test. You go through the steps of responding to a call including getting out of the truck, opening the back doors, carrying equipment, etc. You'll have to load/unload the gurney, and carry a barbell (about 75) at waist level up and down a few steps. The highest weight on the gurney was somewhere around 160.

The interview process can take a while, so just keep training and you should be fine in time for the test, which is taken after you receive an offer.

AmeriCare has a lifting test and a trunk torque test to ensure you have a healthy back to be able to lift without getting injured. It is done by a doctor in his office not in the interview process. It is based on height and weight for percentages of torque you produce so you should pass if you have a healthy strong back. Being smaller or lighter would not hurt your chances at all. We want to make sure that your back is ready for any possible situation that could occur in the field or at Angel Stadium.
