Ambulance Nearly Goes Off Cliff During ATV Rescue

APPLEGATE, Calif - The rescue of a couple injured in an ATV accident nearly turned into emergency crews' worst nightmare after an ambulance nearly tumbled down the same cliff where the victims were pulled up.

The couple was riding all-terrain vehicles in the Placer County back country near Applegate when they rolled off a steep incline and plunged nearly 100 feet. The two suffered neck and back injuries, but one of the riders had a satellite phone and was able to call authorities.

The ambulance driver missed a turn, nearly sending the ambulance off the same cliff the victims had been rescued from.

I don't know if anyone read the comments, but someone posted that the ambulance "simply got stuck in Mud" and that it "was removed that night and is sitting at Operations as we speak."

Media sensationalism, anyone?
