Since when in the bloody hell are Technicians registered with the Health Professions Council?

Rest breaks here are a legal requirement and interrputing them can have significant response capability implications for up to the next twenty four hours. Hence why other resources are sent unless it is a triaged life threatning call in which case the crew who are on break will go but then they have to get stood down.

maybe they used ambulance technician as a generic term like ambulance driver?

Never believe the media though, its possible he was on a scheduled break and had left the ambulance and missed the call, he would be a pretty crap provider if he simply ignored the radio call.

Reminds me of Kent v Griffiths [2000] 2 All ER 474.
I reckon someone is going to get in trouble over this one.

Really need more details then
The ambulance technician on duty in Tomintoul was on a rest break and chose not to respond.
before anyone can really pass judgement on this guy though.

Yes he should have responded, but it would also be good if there was adequate coverage to allow the "Technician" to have a rest.

Only 1 person suspended leads me to wonder was he rostered on at that time?
Where was his partner?
Did they expect him to solo respond? Was he trained to?
What information did he have to act on. Did he know it was a cardiac?

Too many questions
