Ok, so we have decided that we aren't going to move to Northern Alberta and now need to figure out where to apply to go to school for my EMT learning. We have crossed out distance education programs as full time face to face is preferred. Now, we have come down to the top two contenders (in our opinion) but I need to know some inside info. Does anyone out here have any experience with either Calgary based Alberta Health and Safety Training Institute - EMT Programhttp://www.safetyed.ca/info/emt, or Sherwood Park based Emergency Services Academy - EMT Programhttp://www.esacanada.com/programs_technician.php?

We have decided that money is not something that one should 'cheap out' on when it comes to an education, so I am looking for 'content'.

Anyone?

I'd say if you're willing to come to Calgary check out AHASTI as well as Professional Medical Associates. PMA has offices both in Calgary and St. Albert though so wherever makes the most sense for you. I did my EMR at ESA last year and it was really good. I had a friend from my fire hall back home who went there to do his recently though, and apparently organization was just not there. Tests didn't come on the days they were scheduled to and the content was apparently poorly reviewed by some of the instructors. I don't have a ton of contact with AHASTI or PMA but from what I've read here they are both really highly respected schools.

Don't know if this helps or is timely, but there's my 2 cents anyway

I went to ESA and the instruction was great. The instructors were always willing to help beyond school hrs. If they offered a part time EMT I might have went there but Great school and great guys.
