Hello! I've been a longtime lurker and I finally joined because I'd appreciate some advice on employment. I live in Western New York and I recently became a certified EMT-B and I was wondering about employment. There's primarily 2 ambulance company where I love (Twin City & Rural Metro)
I think for Twin City I am actually too young to work there; I just turned 19. So I was wondering what I should do about rural metro. I did on sight scoring and I did not do too well on the test, however I did really well in the class and I got a perfect score throughout the practical exams.
I'm currently full time in college and I wanted to work part time too. I haven't heard too many positive things about rural metro in my area, but regardless I want a job as an EMT. I do volunteer for my fire department, but we don't transport and I'd love to make some money.
I'm still new to the world of EMS, so I'd appreciate any advice and/or tips that anyone could offer me.
