Advanced Stroke Life Support class

Anyone take this class? I took it today and was pretty decent I think. EMS education really doesn't focus a lot on Strokes and I took it since that is one of the areas I feel weak in.

I'd like to hear input from those who have actually taken it?

I am an ASLS instructor. Excellant course, however; I don't like the fee's they attach to the course costs for the cards, certificates, etc.

I do appreciate the methodology for teaching prehospital and ED and then ICU and putting them altogether. A good course to understand each teams similarity and role.

All I got was a certificate

Mine was free. Local hospital wants as many people to attend so they are offered it for free. 24 spots, I would say 18 or so showed up.

I really learned a lot, especially how different ones present different. I knew they weren't all the same, however didn't know their signs and symptoms vary so much.
