Hi everyone, just happened to come by these forums tonight so I decided to register. My name is Steve. I have been an EMT-B since April 2011. I have been a 911 Dispatcher for 11 years but I am new to the EMS field on the other side of the radio.

At dispatch we are trained Emergency Medical Dispatchers. When I heard the EMT School at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette Michigan was hosting an EMT-B class I decided to enroll. I did not have the 1000 dollars to take the class but I was lucky enough to convince my boss that having EMT training as a dispatcher was a good thing so they paid 75% of it.

So, got into EMS because of work but the more I did the class and my clinical work the more I enjoyed it. This Thursday I will start as a Medical First Responder in the Township I live in. I am really excited to get started. There is also a Township about 30 miles from me where I grew up. They are a Specialist Rig. I am also a volunteer on a limited basis with them.

So, wish me luck. Any questions of me please feel free to ask.

Steve

Woot woot michigan is taking over the forum.

Welcome :-)

Quite a few Michiganders hanging around here. Welcome and try to stay warm up there! :D

Its a wonderful 60 degrees here. Im sure its like 30 up north lol

Actually it is 60 degrees out right now. Going to view the fall colors soon. Normally this time of the year I would be at a dispatch conference in Tustin but not this year so I am enjoying what warmth we have left....

It makes me laugh that those from MI think 60 is warm lol

Floridians would be wearing a winter coat.
