Hello everyone,
I wasn't quite sure where to post this question, so I'm trying it out in here.
I'm very eager to dive into EMT-B classes, and I'm excited to possibly begin a career in such a challenging, and rewarding field of work.

My question is: I'm planning on pursuing my certification classes in my home state, but I'm not necessarily planning on living permanently in my hometown much after that. Is it realistic to get certified in one state, and then move to another state in pursuit of gaining experience there (landing a job)? Thank you for looking in on this post! and I can't wait to hear back..

A good place to start might be to investigate the state you plan on relocating to. They may have the same requirements as your state so the transition would be easy. I would think the transition to most states would be easier if you obtain National Registry.
The reason to investigate the other state or states is they may not have the same entry requirements and it might be best to wait until you relocate. For instance, I live in TN. If you took a basic course in your state then moved to TN you wouldn't be able to get a license until you took an extended skills course which includes pharmacology and IV. That course is really hard to find. So I would recommend waiting.
Your question is a good one but doesn't have an easy answer.
Hope I have helped a little.

At the basic level even with NR many states require you take a class in their state. But as advised research the state you plan to move to. Also research the pay which will be barely minimum wage in many areas.
