The station said that the fifth-grader, Hannah Powell-Auslam, had a partial mastectomy to remove a tumor, but it still spread into her lymph nodes.

She is scheduled to have a second surgery.

"I was just, 'How could this happen? I'm 10.' I was really shocked. I don't even think my mom has been checked, so for me to have it, it's just shocking for her," Powell-Auslam said.

Wow, the poor girl. She's so young!
