    How about this one?

Too bad insurance companies are run by crooks. some jobs just train you to tough it out and keep working. Where I work you almost have to argue that you are taking a day off or leaving if something happens. It's asinine. Then again, I ran my thumb through a table saw and still toughed it...

    How to cope

I was reading through this whole post and someone stated that adding an ambu bill to funeral costs was a bad thing......glad I'm volunteer! lol, that way I don't have to think about doing that to anyone. Fortunately for them my services are free. I wonder if former pts give the best...

    Most Memorable Call?

I have not been on the squad long, and surely this is not as touching as some of yours. But it's still my most memorable, probably because it is the one I learned the most from so far. We showed up on scene thinking we had an 8yo having seizures. His parents told us that he had been in the...

    My Partner flipped out today.

I can't take people in my face like that. This is where I wonder how 10 years of dealing with things on a construction site will affect me. I can recognize a chain of command, and respect it. But things are just handled a little different in the construction field. I'm sure some of you know...

    Funny call

was the mailman still there when you arrived? You should have begun CPR on the bear while he was watching. :P

Bad Day. Weird Day. Series of Bad Events..

self evaluation is one of the best tools of an EMT, ( so I hear over and over again) so at least you learned from it. Not to sound cliche, but you could spend an eternity on "what ifs" so do yourself a favor... Hope your partner is feels better!

The NSA is in on it!

Medic, the patient actually said administration. However, I wouldn't have known the difference. either way it is probably just another office set up to justify taking more tax money out of my cruddy paycheck every week. <~~~not anti goverment, but let's just say I hope...

    Advice requested

well, let me explain my reasoning for doing EMS before going into nursing. There are a few. One reason is that although I know I am very interested in nursing, I have absolutely no experience. And I mean ANY. I have never really been in any emergency situations, never had to deal with...

The NSA is in on it!

We got a call on Mon night that was oh so fun for a rookie. (me) I normally grab the sheet off the printer and shout out what we got. chest pains, abdominal pains, overdose, whatever. When I looked monday night it said "mental patient". New to me!? cool! I love seeing new ones. To be honest...

    Advice requested

My original reason for joining the VRS with no certifications was because I was thinking of a switching careers to nursing and I thought I could get my feet wet. I also figured that once I got my EMT license I could get a job at a hospital nearby, which would then pay for nursing classes. (the...

What color are your gloves in the rig?

we have blue ones, sometimes though we get a rogue box of teal ones on the truck and I can't stand them! They are way too stiff and are sized a size and a half smaller than the blue. So even an xl doesn't fit right, and if they're too big that's no good either. Hate the teal ones!

    New to EMTL

Hello to everyone here. Not an EMT yet, I joined a local vol. squad about 2 months ago, got my CPR, and EMT-B class is coming in may-jul. I can't wait! I am on 2 nights a week and lovin' it. It was way intimidating to start with no qualifications but I wish I had found it years ago! I joined...
