Can a 16 year old EMT respond on the ambulance with a 40 year old first responder, who functions as a driver? The 16 year old would be alone in the back. I'm asking about PA law.
Yeah, I never pulled back. I was very conscious of the teeth. I never got past the tip of the tongue. I just stopped because I didn't know what to do. And, they immediately took it out of my hands and did it for me. I didn't mind that, but being told to "watch" for the rest of the rotation...
I think their head was too flexed and I couldn't even get the blade past the tip of their tongue because the handle was on their chest. Similar to pic below.

So, I'm not a paramedic. I'm a 3rd year med student who just started my anesthesia rotation. Up to this point, I've been intubating plastic heads with no body. Today, they let me try to intubate a real patient.
I started by opening their mouth with the scissor technique. I slid the...
I'm from PA. From what I've heard, you have to be either a certified EMT instructor or "an expert in the field that you are teaching" to instruct con-ed courses. I'm graduating med school in May, and I would love to teach some classes to the department I volunteer with after I graduate. There's...

We were directly involved in the patient's care so I don't understand the red...
So, I feel a little conflicted when I write up EMS PCRs. I've always tried to write the tripsheets in accordance with what I learned in EMT school, but I'm now wondering if I should document things that I've learned to identify in med school.
For example, if the patient has decorticate...
On the AFG application, do you score higher if the department has line of duty injuries?
In 2008, one EMT got their fingers caught in the stretcher. It bruised but no treatment was required.
In 2007, an EMT pulled a muscle lifting an obese patient. Ice and rest was all that was required...
We currently have a 1997 Ford E350 Wheeled Coach Type III Ambulance. How do I figure out it's "ground clearance"?
We're using this info for a grant application.
Thanks in advance!
For all of your questions about AFGP 09.
For starters, where do I find out how much of our service area's land use is for ag, residential, or commercial?
