I'm glad it worked out for you, but that doesn't say much for Montana, not responding to your message.

    CCEMTP Recert question

Thank you everyone for your responses! Based on these responses, I decided to go ahead and recert my CCEMTP. I just received my new card this morning, so I'm good until Nov. 2026. I really do appreciate everyone's responses!

    CCEMTP Recert question

My agency is on the East Coast and provided the CCEMTP course for those of us that were going to work on our CCT, starting in 2002, when I took the course. I will say that the CCEMTP is/was a good introduction to CCT, and I learned a lot from it, when I took it in 2002. I have been FP-C...

    CCEMTP Recert question

I have maintained my CCEMTP (2002) for 21 years and am now considering letting it lapse. I also have, and maintain, my FP-C and CCP-C, but I have maintained my CCEMTP as I heard (however I can't find hard evidence to confirm) that some states accept/require CCEMTP for their states Critical Care...

I will defer to you then, as you were "there" at that time, and I came in just after. Thank you for the history, that I was unaware of. Always good to learn something new.

    IBSC

I believe you are incorrect, as I believe the BCCTPC was started in 2000, specifically for the FP-C, by NFPA (but separate). I took the CCEMTP class in 2002, and in 2003 I attended a FP-C "prep course" (for the Con-Ed toward my CCEMT-P) and trust me, the vast majority of the people there taking...

Old school Military 1st Aid training

I enjoyed watching that. Just a thought, as I have no BA in History and am but a simple Paramedic who is a history buff. WW I was a LONG time before 1938, at least when I learned history (I do realize that in the last few years many have been rewriting history, anatomy, etc., so I guess that...

What was your first 911 call?

1979 was my first and I have no idea what it was. Too many years and too many calls since. I wish I did remember it.

    Medic no more...

I am very sorry to hear that. It's one thing when it happens by our choice............. I'm glad to hear that you have your RN to "fall back" on. Best of luck to you.

    NAEMT's Amazon Business account?

I have used it since 2020 (I believe, when they started it?) and it was very helpful. It let me purchase some things (masks, etc) that weren't available to "regular" Amazon members. I had never used Amazon before this. A very nice "perk" from NAEMT.

    EMT with panic disorder?

The question I'd have to ask myself is......... Would you want someone treating you, or a loved one/family member, that is having a panic attack? EMS is not for everyone.

Who has the best retirement benefits?

I believe that you will see many more Municipal agencies going to 401K/etc, in place of Defined Pension Benefits, as they (Defined Pension Benefits) are not sustainable in the long term.
