Welcome to the jungle, Pro. This is going to be nothing like you've ever seen.
PRN crews... break out your wallets for those union dues.
This one is going to be fun to watch!
All Town was permitted to submit last minute information at the hearing indicating that ownership changes were made, along with other responses to the EMS Agency's summary. They were represented by 2 attorneys as well. The EMS Agency staff and counsel appeared to be poorly prepared and...
Appeal Officer may not, but CMS requires providers to have all proper licenses for payment from Medicare. That'll be the next angle:
10.1.1 - The Vehicle
(Rev. 1, 10-01-03)
B3-2120.1.A, A3-3114.A, HO-236.1.A
Any vehicle used as an ambulance must be designed and equipped to respond to...
Other than their 56 transports in December without proper licenses, in addition to numerous transports of patients that should have had 9-1-1 paramedic intervention. The lack of qualified management was examined as well.
Good strategic move for Falck and Gerber.
With the LA County 9-1-1 bid coming up relatively soon, look for more consolidation by Falck and AMR. Should be interesting to see if there's any movement with Schaefer, McCormick and Westmed.
From The Green Mile:
"Deadman walking, there's a deadman walking."
I'd bet they don't have 30 days. We've sceneitall before. Once the cycle starts, it's almost impossible to stop it and the employees will soon be scrambling.
A company can work crews like a dog, but NEVER mess with...
I agree, but these guys said it's been happening for weeks. I guess the whole story becomes evident if they fold.

Bumped into a crew from MedLife today. Sounds like life is getting tough there. Paychecks handed out on Friday (at 5pm) bounced, along with others today.
Anybody have the scoop? If you're looking, you may want to take a pass on this one.
The green card no longer exists. It has been replaced by a Medical Examiner's Certificate, which is printed on 81/2 X 11 paper. The CHP in Sacramento is aware of the change, along with LADOT and the LA County EMS Agency. Both the CHP and LADOT advise that the certificate does not need to be...
From Falck's website, 5/22/13:
Falck has acquired the private ambulance provider Verihealth which is running its ambulance services in the northern part of California, USA.
At this rate, looks to be a 5 year process. What type of medical oversight does the EMS Agency have for the majority of the providers operating without the County permit?
I'd stay away from Shoreline entirely. Too much top end turmoil and the company was recently debarred from LA City for continued violations. This will most likely have a negative effect on their ability to become licensed in LA County as well. Sinking ship.
